day six | Held.

This wallet was handmade in Takaka, Golden Bay, bought with Christmas money from my grandparents. Now it is unable to keep things safe; it cannot hold them tight.

So then: Keep your palms flat
wide
open
outstretched;
leave room between your hands to hold these gifts

to let them go.

Find (in the space between)
a tension ‘twixt
the joy and ache
of all at once having
everything, and nothing,
at your fingertips.
